What is GATE Exam?

The Graduate aptitude test in Engineering (GATE)  was started by IISC Bangalore in 1984 as an entrance exam to get admission in IISC and IITs for M tech and Masters programs. later it was adopted by other institutes and universities also as an entrance exam to get admissions in their institutes and universities. To get admission into reputed IIT you should get all India rank under 2000 in the GATE exam.

Who Organize GATE Exam?

GATE Exam conducted every year by the IISC Bangalore and seven other IITs (Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, madras, Roorkee) among these one institute which is responsible for coordinating among all the GATE conducting test centers like ( ION digital zone, etc) and its administration. the financial assistance for the GATE exam is provided by the ministry of human resource development(MHRD), the Department of higher education, and the government of India.

Eligibility for GATE Exam

  • If you are pursuing Pharm D and you are in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th year are you completed Pharm D you can eligible for the GATE exam.
  • If you are an MBBS student and you are in the 5th, 6th, or 7th semester or you are completed an MBBS degree you can apply for the GATE exam.

Qualifying marks for the GATE 2022 exam

Qualifying marks are not fixed it changes yearly in the GATE 2020 qualifying marks for the general category were 28 and in 2021 its increases to 31 marks for the general category. so please visit the official website of the GATE exam.

The GATE score is very important to get admission in IITs and get the Govt jobs in PSUs like Bharat heavy electrical limited(BHEL), the Gas Authority of India Limited(GAIL), IOCL, NTPC, ONGC, and BPCL, etc. And you can get a direct job in group A posts like Senior field officer, and Senior research officer, these posts are normally published in newspapers. As we know that the GATE score card is valid for up to three years, if you want to get jobs in PSUs or other MNCs which hire employees on the GATE exam score you have to apply for the job in three years only after 3 years of GATE scorecard is not valid.
